ATC HOLDER/FOLDER part one

TO make your ATC Card Holder/Folder you will need
Nice Cardstock weight paper - your choice
Trimmer/Scoring Board
Double Stick Tape
scissors
Transparency Film (Optional)
Velcro (type) dots
Cut your cardstock to 6 inches by 7 inches
SCORE along the 7" side at the 2" and 5" marks
One the SIX INCH side  Score at the 1" and 5" Marks
Trim away cardstock as shown above... you are looking
at the photo 7" high by 6" wide
now on to PART TWO

ATC Folder/Holder part 2

I added some transparency film, which I have had FOR YEARS I don't even know if it is sold anymore... I attached it to the side of the opening with double stick tape
The size is approximate you can make any shape you would like for the cute out viewing window
Here I added a velcro spot... the trick to lining up the two sides it to peel off the one side
attach to the card, both velcro piece are together, then peel off the other side
close the folder up and press...now you can peel apart the velcro and both parts will always be
lined up perfectly
Pretty inside card...framed by the folder/holder
this could also be used for small jewelry keeping, stickers, ribbons, little notes/cards
money holder...
A collection of ATC Holders, with and without a viewing window

Containers Part One

Container Fun
Things you will need. Paper, fabric, magazine clippings, ribbons etc.. anything you want to decorate the outside of the container with.
Glue gun, scissors, glue, knife and containers of your choice
What I did with this container is both ends had a metal rim so I cut with a sharp knife
around the rims  after I had glued the paper down... I also glued RIGHT TO THE EDGE of the metal rim
I added ribbon to the edge and decided to use this container for dog treats
but I could use it also to store dog medications in here too...
Here are some of the finished items.... I also have one of these I made to use
as a little garbage can on my desk/craft table
Have fun... ENJOY

Container Part 2

This is a very TALL Canister... which I will cut in half
See, I used a knife and I will use both halves. I saved the plastic lid and I hot glued it on...
now I have two (2) useable containers
Now the fun begins... what to cover them with
well the wallpaper you used in the room you want to put them in?
scraps and papers from magazines?
Scrapbook paper?  Wrapping paper?  FABRIC?
Have Fun!
Lots of extra paper left over the lip... so I trimmed it down and then I cut narrow strips right to the edge of the lip of the canister
the narrower the strips the smoother the fold-over, glue the strips down
with any glue you normally use for paper or a glue gun works too
And there you have it... you can tidy it up on the inside, put ribbon on the lip,
decorate the outside.... imagination HAVE FUN!!
ENJOY

ATC Cards
are 2 1/2" X 3 1/2" in size
and people trade them all over the world
different themes, colors, whatever.. some are on watercolor paper, miniture canvas, heavy cardstock, homemade papers...  it is just a nice hobby and also a way to promote ones business.
I am enjoying it and look forward to getting a nice collection from folks around the world.
This is the photo only - added beads and feathers for the swap
This swap required that one use a page out of a book, after that have fun
so I did

My Valentines Baby

On Valentines Day, 1976 in Anchorage, Alaska at 7 in the morning. I had a baby boy. When he came out the doctor said look at the size of his feet!... I asked if it was a boy or girl and he said a boy, but look at the size of those kids feet. As the years passed Josh grew into those feet. Today he is a successful father, artist, and handsome, honest, kind, generous, wonderful, and the list could go on... yep he is one great kid. Love you Josh, Mom

Pheasant Feather Rosette

Pheasant Feathers Rosette
I made this simple box, but added a few panels for strength and a velcro closure
I made the rosettes with Martha Stewarts scoring board - great tool!!!
I made two rosettes and hot glued some
pheasant feathers in the grooves added
a pretty button - done
Today (February 8, 2012) I put this up on Facebook as I want to give it away,
if you like it on FB and make a comment too
I will put your name in a drawing and pick a winner on Thursday, February 9, 2012
This was fun to make and if the new owner
doesn't want the box, well take the rosettes off and add a pin on the back
and enjoy a new piece of jewelry

I hate computers

I tried to get into Pintrest and link my Simple Pup Recipes - a dog treat cookbook everytime I clicked on it the little pin would go away in a little Poof of fake smoke - I let the company know they should hire me - but cause if I could do ANYTHING right the first time - then they would have a wonderful computer program... cause if a Tech-no-nothing can do it... anyone could.
Sheeezzzzz  I am not that dumb... I followed their instructions...  grrrrrrrr did I mention I hate computers.   Well, I really love 'em, when they work. :)

February 3rd 2012

It is almost Valentines Day - well not quite - but I sent my first two cards out - which really were not cards at all but Journals so the receiver can fill it with all their memories of loves and good times shared. My son was born on Valentines Day in 1976 - at a hospital that is no more - in Anchorage, Alaska - funny how time flies when one is busy living... My husband for this Valentines Day (early) bought some interest in a Gold Mine - guess it is better than getting a Star named after me... the chances of the mine producing funds is a bit better - The weather this winter had been over-the-top WONDERFUL!!!!  Which reminds me I best go feed the horses.
You all have a great day - and I will get back to this blog soon, I have more creative ideas - somewhere out there waiting to be made.  :)

Safe Book - Part Three

A hard cover book, a sharp exacto knife, thick glue and a plan
With hole cut out of the book, and the hole sealed and the inside of the hole covered nicely... it is ready to be filled with little treasures
Wether money or jewels or locks of childhood hair, small mementos or a place to hide love letters
you can close the cover on this book
place it on a bookshelf, or put a book marker in,
place it on your night stand next to the bed
as if you were reading it.... (keep it dusted)
as there you have your very own Safe Book

Enjoy

Safe Book - Part Two

Cut an X into the full sheet and fold into the sides of the hole
After you have slathered the sides of
the hole, cover the top page of the hole with glue and place a full uncut page on top... just flip a page back over and press down... next
Like this press firmly into place
place a heavy object on top of your book and let it dry, and seal up   a few hours to a day
If you would like you can cover up the hole bottom with
a fancy piece of paper or fabric just to give
it a nice clean look

Safe Book

Take any size hard cover book that you want to cut the center out of to make a hiding spot
You will need glue, a sharp knife and a marking pencil
the hole can be any size you want to make it and as deep as you would like, to put some treasures in.
You will want to use a good heavy glue to seal the edges on the hole you created
The inside cut out pages, save them for other uses such as
cards and journal fillers that you paint, ink, stamp etc to add more interest to your projects
Slather the glue inside the hole you made so that all the pages will stick together... DO NOT make the hole close to the opening edge of the book.

CD/DVD Mailer - Part Three

Some examples of what you can do
Did you take photos of an event? Photocopy the program, invite and make a sleeve.
Attended a Wedding? How about making a sleeve with the wedding invitation photocopies on your paper.
Photos of just one subject...make a sleeve
Just want to mail a cd mailer cut out some scrapbook paper, add mailing label if the paper is to busy to read/write the address on, wrote a book, a paper, an article and you need to archive it... make a photocopy and sleeve so it is easy to find...
Scrapbook paper  12"x12"
Lay your template on top of the paper - if there is a picture or design you want to showcase place the template where it would work
NOTE: I am making the TOP FLAP longer (this is the sealing flap) because I have the extra paper length
Hold the template with your hand securely and cut out the bottom paper around your template
All cut out and ready to fold, tape and put your disk in the pocket
